Abstract

Transportation of crude oil products from tankers to final terminals is carried out through pipelines and oil terminals. The most common type of terminal is Single Point Mooring (SPM). Single Point Mooring (SPM) can moor tankers and connected crude oil from the tanker via floating hoses to the SPM and then distribute it to terminal via underwater pipes. The Single Point Mooring (SPM) structure is always inspected periodically during its operational period. Pertamina's Single Point Mooring (SPM) structure is one of them. During the inspection, it was stated that the SPM 17,500 DWT needed to be overhauled immediately. In order to continue loading and unloading operations of crude oil, a replacement SPM is needed. The replacement SPM used is Pertamina's SPM 150,000 DWT. During its operational period, the SPM 17,500 DWT was moored with 6 mooring lines with a diameter of 63.5 mm, while the SPM 150,000 DWT was moored with 4 mooring lines with a diameter of 135 mm. Due to differences in the number of mooring lines and mooring lines diameters, it is necessary to modify the configuration from 6 mooring lines to 4 mooring lines. The modification made was by combining the existing mooring lines (63.5 mm) with a new mooring lines (135 mm) which was connected to a triangle plate. In this thesis, a reliability analysis of the modification of the mooring system configuration, namely mooring line, triangle plates and chain stopper with variations in the placement of the triangle plates on the mooring line. The method used in analysis is Mean Value First Order Second Moment (MVFOSM). From the research results, it was found that the mooring system configuration meets the API RP 2SK criteria, both in intact and damaged condition. The results of local stress analysis on the triangle plate and chain support also meet the allowable stress. Reliability analysis for intact and damaged conditions at all loads shows that the most reliable configuration is the mooring line with a triangle plate position of 26 m, followed by 31 m, and last at the 36 m position with a reliability of 0,990398295 in the intact condition and 0,966042213 in the damaged condition.
