Abstract
Arus rip merupakan sebuah ancaman yang membahayakan bagi pengunjung yang mandi di daerah pesisir. Sebagai tindakan pencegahan dilakukan studi terhadap potensi arus rip pada suatu lokasi titik. Studi ini dilakukan dengan pemodelan numeris untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari arus rip di Pantai Klayar, Pacitan dengan menggunakan software Mike 21. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat tiga area yang terindikasi munculnya arus rip yaitu pada Tanjung Barat yang memiliki kecepatan feeder sebesar 0.704 m/s dan kecepatan neck sebesar 0.620m/s, pada Tanjung Timur memiliki kecepatan feeder sebesar 0.471 m/s dan kecepatan neck sebesar 0.414 m/s dan pada area tengah memiliki kecepatan feeder sebesar 0.22 m/s dari arah timur dan 0.23 m/s dari arah barat serta kecepatan neck sebesar 0.35m/s

Rip currents are a threat hazard to visitors bathing in coastal areas. As a precautionary measure, a study of the potential for rip currents at a point location was conducted. This study was carried out with numerical modeling to determine the characteristics of rip currents at Klayar Beach, Pacitan using Mike 21 software. Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that there are three areas that are indicated by rip currents, namely at indicated the emergence of rip currents, namely at Tanjung Barat which has a feeder speed of 0.704 m/s. feeder speed of 0.704 m/s and neck speed of 0.620m/s, the East Cape has a feeder speed of 0.471 m/s and a neck speed of 0.414 m/s. neck speed of 0.414 m/s and in the center area has a feeder speed of speed of 0.22 m/s from the east and 0.23 m/s from the west and a neck speed of 0.35m/s
