Abstract

This research aims to propose a method for measuring the maturity of companies in addressing environmental issues that meet environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, with a focus on human factors. This is because the construction industry is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the world, and research in Cyprus has found that human factors are the largest contributors to climate change. The maturity measurement of property developer companies is carried out by applying a scorecard maturity with five maturity levels: Initial, Developing, Defined, Managed, and Optimized. The scorecard maturity contains 18 indicators derived from ESG material issues applied to major GHG-emitting companies, and these 18 indicators are developed into 82 criteria obtained from literature studies. The measurement results using the Green Ergonomics Scorecard Maturity show that the property developer company under observation has reached the Defined maturity level, and from these results, it is known that there are two indicators with the lowest scores. Recommendations have been formulated for the company to help address the identified issues, particularly in tackling the two indicators that received relatively low maturity scores.
