Abstract

Pressure Vessel atau bejana tekan adalah sebuah perangkat atau wadah yang dirancang khusus untuk menampung dan menyimpan cairan atau gas dalam tekanan yang tinggi. Pada proses pengoperasiannya pressure vessel memiliki potensi bahaya berupa ledakan. Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini melakuakan perancangan sebuah pressure vessel yang mampu menahan tekanan dalam (internal pressure) yang berlangsung pada saat pressure vessel dioperasikan dan juga dapat menahan external pressure sehingga potensi ledakan tidak akan terjadi.
Penelitian ini diawali dengan melakukan studi literatur mengenai code/standart ASME yang mengatur tentang pressure vessel dan juga pengumpulan data pressure vessel air receiver. Pressure vessel air receiver dirancang dengan design pressure 1600 kPag, jenis plat yang digunakan yaitu carbon steel SA-516 grade 70, inner diameter 800 mm, panjang tangent line to tangent line (TL to TL) 2100 mm, corrosion allowed sebesar 2 mm dan jenis penutup elliptical. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan tebal material yang akan digunakan yaitu 20 mm, ukuran nozzle N1=1 in, N2= 1 in, N3= 2 in, N4= 1 in, N5= 2 in , N6= 0,5 in, N7= 1 in manhole = 18 in serta support yang digunakan yaitu skrit dengan tebal 10 mm serta anchor bolt dengan diameter ½ in. Tegangan von misses yang terjadi pada pressure vessel pada tekanan desain yaitu 125,6 MPa dan pada tekanan hydrotest sebesar 156,99 MPa.

Pressure Vessel is a device or container specially designed to accommodate and store liquid or gas in high pressure. In the process of operation the pressure vessel has potential danger in the form of explosion. Therefore, in this study conducted the design of a pressure vessel that was able to withstand the internal pressure that took place during the pressure vessel was operated and can also withstand external pressure so that the potential explosion would not occur.
The study began by conducting a literature study on ASME code/standard that regulates pressure vessel and data collection of pressure vessel air receiver. Pressure vessel water receiver is designed with 1600 kPag design pressure, the type of plate used is carbon steel SA-516 grade 70, inner diameter 800 mm, long tangent line to tangent line (TL to TL) 2100 mm, corrosion allowed at 2 mm and elliptical cover type. The results of this study obtained thick material to be used which is 20 mm, the size of the nozzle N1=1 in, N2=1 in, N3=2 in, N4=1 in, N5=2 in, N6=0.5 in, N7=1 in manhole =18 in and the support used is the scrites with 10 mm thick and anchor bolt with diameter ½ in. The von misses stress that occurs in pressure vessel at design pressure is 125.6 MPa and at hydrotest pressure of 156.99 MPa.
