Abstract
Sampah merupakan masalah yang dihadapi hampir seluruh negara. Rata-rata setiap harinya kota-kota besar di Indonesia menghasilkan puluhan ton sampah. Berdasarkan data SIPSN tahun 2022, jumlah timbulan sampah di Indonesia adalah sebesar 36,2 juta ton/tahun dengan komposisi sampah didominasi oleh sampah organik, khususnya sampah jenis kayu, ranting, daun yang berjumlah 13%. Pemanfaatan sampah daun menjadi kompos merupakan salah satu hal yang bisa dilakukan guna mengurangi sampah organic tersebut. Guna mempersingkat durasi pengomposan maka dilakukan proses memperkecil ukuran sampah agar pengomposan lebih cepat.
Berdasrkan kondisi tersebut, maka dirancang alat bantu berupa mesin pencacah sampah daun yang didasari oleh kondisi di lapangan, lalu dilanjutkan proses desain alat, dan perhitungan komponen shaft, pulley, belt, bearing, keys yang nantinya digunakan dalam perancangan mesin pencacah sampah daun dengan kapasitas 20 kg/jam.
Hasil perencanaan mesin pencacah sampah daun meliputi perencanaan pisau statis berjumlah satu dan dinamis berjumlah tiga dengan material JIS SUP 9 dan sudut mata pisau 25°, poros (shaft) dengan material SAE 1050 diameter 20 mm, bantalan (bearing) dengan nomor seri 6004 dan 6204, sabuk (belt) dengan tipe A No.63, pulley motor Listrik ukuran 65 mm dan pulley poros sebesar 279 mm, pasak (keys) ukuran 10 x 5 x 3,3 mm dan juga motor listrik penggerak dengan daya 0,37 kW 0,23 HP merk MOTOLOGY untuk mencukupi kapasitas perencanaan mesin pencacah sampah daun 20kg/jam.

Waste is a problem faced by almost all countries. On average, big cities in Indonesia produce tens of tons of waste every day. Based on SIPSN data in 2022, the amount of waste generation in Indonesia is 36.2 million tons/year with the composition of waste dominated by organic waste, especially wood, twigs, leaves which amounted to 13%. Utilization of leaf waste into compost is one of the things that can be done to reduce organic waste. In order to shorten the duration of composting, the process of reducing the size of waste is carried out so that composting is faster.
Based on these conditions, a tool was designed in the form of a leaf waste chopping machine based on conditions in the field, then continued the tool design process, and the calculation of shaft components, pulleys, belts, bearings, keys which will be used in the design of a leaf waste chopping machine with a capacity of 20 kg / hour.
The planning results of the leaf waste chopping machine include planning one static knife and three dynamic knives with JIS SUP 9 material and a blade angle of 25 °, shaft with SAE 1050 material with a diameter of 20 mm, bearings with serial numbers 6004 and 6204, belt with type A No.63, Electric motor pulley size 65 mm and shaft pulley by 279 mm, pegs (keys) size 10 x 5 x 3.3 mm and also a driving electric motor with a power of 0.37 kW 0.23 HP brand MOTOLOGY to meet the planning capacity of the leaf waste chopper machine 20kg / kg
