Abstract

Employees play a crucial role in determining the condition of a company. However, there comes a time when employees must retire due to old age and be replaced by younger employees, potentially leading to financial instability. One solution to this problem is to participate in a pension fund program. Pension funds manage and operate programs that promise retirement benefits to participants after they stop working. This study uses the projected unit credit and entry age normal methods for pension fund calculations, which fall under the categories of accrued benefit cost method and projected benefit cost method, respectively. Normal contributions calculated using the projected unit credit method tend to increase with age, whereas the entry age normal method has constant contributions. The study modifies both methods based on constant dollar and constant percent and employs the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross stochastic interest rate model to describe interest rate changes in the stochastic differential equation of short-term bond yields. Parameter estimation is conducted using the ordinary least square (OLS)-jackknife method. The data used includes employee salary data, containing information on annual salaries, birth dates, entry dates, and gender, as well as interest rate data from Bank Indonesia. The results indicate that normal contributions depend on the participant's salary, with the order of contributions from largest to smallest at the beginning of the working period being EAN constant dollar, EAN constant percent, PUC constant dollar, and PUC constant percent, and this order reverses at the end of the working period. Actuarial liabilities also depend on the participant's salary and the method used, with the order from largest to smallest being EAN constant dollar, EAN constant percent, PUC constant dollar, and PUC constant percent. As age increases, the percentage of normal contributions to salary decreases for the EAN constant dollar method, while for the PUC constant percent the allocation of salary for normal contributions increases. PUC constant dollar has percentage of normal cost to salary decreases for the first half of active working age and the rest time increases. For the EAN constant percent method, the salary allocation proportion for normal contributions remains constant. Actuarial liabilities during the active working period compared to retirement age show that all methods have a value of 0% at the entry age and 100% at retirement age, with the order of percentage from smallest to largest being PUC constant percent, PUC constant dollar, EAN constant percent, and EAN constant dollar, reflecting varying degrees of plot concavity.
