Abstract

Sexual violence is a complex issue involving many interconnected factors. The issue of sexual violence has long been a concern in society, including in education. Universities are considered risky places due to the numerous cases of sexual violence involving members of the academic community. In fact, universities should be safe spaces for personal development. This final project models the problem of sexual violence in universities and discusses the analysis of the model by determining the basic reproduction number, the violence-free and endemic equilibrium points, and controllability of the system. Additionally, three controls are proposed: education, counseling and support for victims, and sanctions for perpetrators. The optimal control problem is solved using Pontryagin's Minimum Principle, and numerical simulations are conducted using the Fifth-Order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method. The simulation results show that the proposed controls are effective in managing the population of perpetrators and victims of sexual violence.
