Abstract

Solid electrolytes are materials that can conduct ions efficiently in the solid phase. This material has an important role in various electrochemical applications, including batteries. In this study, the author will make a solid electrolyte from a PEO/Cellulose/ZIF-67 composite based on rice husk cellulose in lithium-ion battery applications. This study aims to analyze the effect of the PEO/Cellulose/ZIF67 composition fraction on the structure, morphology, and electrochemical performance of the PEO/Cellulose/ZIF67 composite. To achieve this goal, characterization was carried out in the form of Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) as well as electrochemical testing in the form of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV). Based on this study, it was found that the synthesis of the PEO/Cellulose/ZIF-67 composite was successful. The SEM test results show that PEO as a matrix is attached to cellulose and the EDX results show the presence of atoms such as C, O, and Co which indicate a PEO/Cellulose/ZIF-67 composite. The morphology of cellulose is rod-shaped, PEO is granular and ZIF-67 is dodecahedron-shaped. The XRD test results show the appearance of cellulose peaks. The FTIR test results show the presence of appropriate functional groups in each material, namely the C-H, O-H, and -CH2 functional groups which are functional groups of PEO, ZIF-67, and cellulose. The electrochemical performance of the sample (7:1:2) shows the best electrochemical performance with the highest conductivity (5.79984E-5 S/cm) and the highest capacitance (0.079423 F). Sample (7:1.5:1.5) has the highest specific capacitance (385.41 F/m²) but lower conductivity than other samples. Overall, the sample (7:1:2) showed the most optimal electrochemical performance.
