Abstract

Penelitian ini Melakukan analisis komposisi gas Argon dan CO2 pada pengelasan GMAW untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik dan efisiensi biaya terhadap sambungan butt joint baja ASTM A36. Proses pengelasan biasa digunakan untuk fabrikasi dalam aplikasi engineering, misalnya untuk pesawat terbang, otomotif, dan industri perkapalan. Salah satu metode pengelasan yang sering dipakai oleh masyarakat umum, yaitu metode GMAW. Proses pengelasan, pada dasarnya memiliki tujuh macam sambungan, yaitu: butt joint, backing joint, T joint, Cross joint, overlap joint, corner joint, dan edge joint. Kualitas hasil pengelasan dipengaruhi oleh energi panas yang berarti dipengaruhi juga oleh arus las, tegangan dan kecepatan pengelasan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan variasi komposisi gas pelindung pengelasan GMAW antara gas Argon dan Carbon Dioksida (CO2).==================================================================================================================
This research analyzes the composition of Argon and CO2 gas in GMAW welding to determine the mechanical properties and cost efficiency of ASTM A36 steel butt joints. The welding process is commonly used for fabrication in engineering applications, for example for the aircraft, automotive and shipping industries. One welding method that is often used by the general public is the GMAW method. The welding process basically has seven types of joints, namely: butt joint, backing joint, T joint, cross joint, overlap joint, corner joint, and edge joint. The quality of welding results is influenced by heat energy, which means it is also influenced by welding current, voltage and welding speed. This research was carried out by varying the composition of the protective gas for GMAW welding between Argon and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas.
