Abstract

Akses terhadap energi listrik masih menjadi kebutuhan primer manusia. Oleh karena itu, penyediaan tenaga listrik dalam jumlah yang cukup harus dilakukan secara konsisten, baik dalam jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang. Di Indonesia, pembangkit tenaga listrik telah mencapai kapasitas terpasang sebesar 83.813,10 MW pada tahun 2022. Di antara sekian banyak pembangkit listrik, yang paling dominan adalah pembangkit listrik tenaga air (PLTA). Salah satu jenis turbin PLTMH yang lebih baru adalah turbin vortex, juga dikenal sebagai water vortex turbine, yang menggunakan pusaran air untuk menggerakkan baling-balingnya. Bentuk basin, sudut stagger, dan sudut inlet adalah beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi intensitas aliran pusaran dan daya yang dihasilkan saat membangun turbin vortex. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan analisis eksperimen water vortex turbine kali ini pada variasi sudut stagger (10o, 15o & 20o) dihasilkan performa tertinggi dari sudut stagger 15o yang menghasilkan torsi sebesar 1,3 Nm, daya turbin sebesar 8,14 Watt, dan efisisensi sebesar 35,9 %. Dan pada variasi debit (300, 350, 400, 450, & 500) didapatkan performa terbaik pada variasi debit 500 l/m.

Access to electrical energy is still a primary human need. Therefore, the provision of electricity in sufficient quantities must be carried out consistently, both in the short and long term. In Indonesia, power generation has reached an installed capacity of 83,813.10 MW by 2022. Among the many power plants, the most dominant is hydropower. One of the newer types of MHP turbines is the vortex turbine, also known as a water vortex turbine, which uses a water vortex to drive its blades. Basin shape, stagger angle, and inlet angle are some of the factors that affect the intensity of the vortex flow and the power generated when building a vortex turbine. Based on the results of testing and analysis of water vortex turbine experiments this time at variations in stagger angles (10o, 15o & 20o), the highest performance was produced from a 15o stagger angle which produced a torque of 1.3 Nm, turbine power of 8.14 Watt, and efficiency of 35.9%. And in the variation of discharge (300, 350, 400, 450, & 500) the best performance was obtained in the variation of discharge 500 l/m.
