Abstract

This research focuses on the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method in recommending entrepreneurial skill areas in a case study of Double Track Senior High Schools. TOPSIS can be used to rank various alternatives based on their proximity to the optimal ideal solution, as well as decision weighting for criteria that can influence the calculation results. The alternatives used in this research include Multimedia, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Culinary Arts, Fashion Design, Beauty, and Light Vehicle/Motorcycle Engineering. In addition, the criteria affecting the weighting results include students' interest in a field, school facilities and support, the number of job opportunities, entrepreneurial opportunities, and salary, which have average weighting percentages of 37.38%, 28.36%, 17.72%, 4.74%, and 11.80%, respectively, in a sample of 70 students from SMA Dharma Wanita Surabaya. The weighting is obtained from the calculation of the combinative weighting method, which is derived from the assessment of subjective and objective weighting methods. In this research, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to provide subjective assessment by comparing each criterion based on quality, and the entropy weighting method is used to provide objective assessment based on acceptable and verifiable facts. The results of testing the TOPSIS method with the entropy weighting method show an average accuracy percentage of 85.539%. This is significantly better than the overall calculation of the AHP method, which only has an average accuracy percentage of 78.4521%
