Abstract
Sulfuric Acid sebagai sumber utama dalam pembuatan pupuk di PT. Petrokimis Gresik. Sehingga untuk menambah pasokan Sulfuric Acid PT. Petrokimia membeli Sulfuric Acid dari vendor lain. Pada proses pembelian ini untuk proses unloading Sulfuric Acid di salurkan melalui pompa sentrifugal dengan pipa jenis stainless steel. Pompa Sentrifugal adalah salah satu komponen utama dalam proses unloading Sulfuric Acid tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang pompa unloading Sulfuric Acid yang efisien dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan unloading Sulfuric Acid. Selain itu, dalam proyek ini bertujuan untuk memilih pompa sentrifugal yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan merancang impeller dan volute yang sesuai dengan standar API 610.
Tahapan dalam proyek ini adalah: 1) Perhitungan analisis kecepatan fluida, Head efektif instalasi yang dilakukan secara manual. 2) Pemilihan pompa dilakukan dengan cara memplot hasil dari perhitungan Head efektif dan juga kapasitas. 3)Perancangan impeller dengan point by point method dimana dilakukan perhitungan terhadap variable. 4) Perancangan volute pompa. 5) Perhitungan umur bearing
Hasil pada perhitungan berdasarkan nilai Head efektif instalasi sebesar 40,8 m dan kapasitas 36,3 m^3⁄jam maka pompa yang dipilih adalah pompa Grundfos Pump NBG 65-40-200/188 dengan kapasitas 36,44 m^3⁄jam; Head 41,5 m; Putaran 2915 rpm; NPSH 1,5 m. Rancangan impeller yang sesuai yakni, impeller dengan tipe moderate specific speed impeller, dimater inlet sudu 90 mm, diameter outlet sudu 188 mm, sudut kelengkungan sudu inlet 17˚, sudut kelengkungan sudu outlet 24˚, dan jumlah sudu 8.

Sulfuric Acid is the main source for making fertilizer at PT. Petrochemical Gresik. So to increase the supply of Sulfuric Acid PT. Petrokimia purchases Sulfuric Acid from other vendors. In this purchasing process, the unloading process of Sulfuric Acid is distributed via a centrifugal pump with a stainless steel type pipe. The Centrifugal Pump is one of the main components in the Sulfuric Acid unloading process. The aim of this research is to design a Sulfuric Acid unloading pump that is efficient and meets the needs of Sulfuric Acid unloading. In addition, this project aims to select a centrifugal pump that suits your needs and design an impeller and volute that comply with API 610 standards.
The stages in this project are: 1) Calculation of fluid velocity analysis, effective installation head which is carried out manually. 2) Pump selection is done by plotting the results of effective head and capacity calculations. 3) Impeller design using the point by point method where calculations are carried out on variables. 4) Pump volute design. 5) Calculation of bearing life.
The calculation results are based on the installation effective head value of 40.8 m and a capacity of 36.3 m^3⁄hour , so the pump chosen is the Grundfos Pump NBG 65-40-200/188 pump with a capacity of 36.44 m^3⁄hour ; Head 41.5 m; Speed of 2915 rpm; NPSH 1.5 m. The appropriate impeller design is, an impeller with a moderate specific speed impeller type, inlet blade diameter 90 mm, outlet blade diameter 188 mm, inlet blade curvature angle 17˚, outlet blade curvature angle 24˚, and number of blades 8
