Abstract
Desalination Plant menunjukkan penurunan yang diakibatkan oleh penumpukan kerak dan perbedaan beban unit PLTGU.==================================================================================================================Brine heater is one of the heat exchangers in the seawater desalination process that functions to heat seawater using steam (saturated) from LP steam to reach a certain temperature (top brine temperature), where the temperature of the brine heater output water can affect the evaporation process on the evaporator. Brine heater is a shell and tube type heat exchanger with crossflow type whose performance can affect the performance of the Desalination Plant. This analysis aims to show the effect of brine heater performance on Desalination Plant performance. In addition, the longer the heat exchanger is used, it will cause a decrease in heat exchanger performance such as the magnitude of the actual heat transfer rate, effectiveness, and fouling factor. Therefore, heat exchanger analysis is carried out to determine the effect of performance, actual heat transfer rate. and the effectiveness of heat exchangers on desalination plant production. The research method used is in the form of direct observation, looking for data and calculation of brine heater performance, interviews and discussions with related parties and analyzing the possible effect of brine heater performance on the performance of the Desalination Plant based on data. The results of calculations and analysis show that the effect of brine heater performance on the performance of the Desalination Plant is quite significant, which is an average of 68%. Value effectiveness and performance. The Desalination Plant shows a decrease caused by scale buildup and differences in PLTGU unit loads.
