Abstract

The average degradation rate of solar panels (PV) is about 0.8% per year, according to a study conducted in 2012 by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). This decline in solar panel performance can result in increased maintenance costs, which impacts the efficiency and operational costs of solar power plants. To overcome this, the application of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method is important in the PLTS maintenance strategy. In this study, 4 years of solar panel performance and maintenance data will be used as a reference for this final project.
Based on the analysis conducted, it is known that the critical component of the FMEA analysis results with the calculation of the RPN value that has been carried out is the PV Module component with an RPN value of 72. Then in the Solar Power Plant system there are 4 components and 5 failure modes that occur. There are 2 components that are carried out in Time Directed or planned maintenance directly aimed at preventing failure or damage, namely PV Modules, and Support Structures. There are 2 components that are carried out in Run to Failure or Maintenance based on considerations to run components until they are damaged because other options are not economical or not possible, namely Inverters and Distribution Panels. The total maintenance cost after analysis amounted to Rp1,206,989,551.20. Based on the results of this analysis, maintenance cost optimization with a contract system was not successful.
