Abstract
============================================================Rapid urbanization has created new challenges in architectural design, especially in terms of supporting the quality of human life. The commuting phenomenon as one of the impacts requires architecture to support healthy social life and good quality rest. This research focuses on a vertical residential design that integrates the human circadian system to support the physical and psychological well-being of commuting workers. Through in-depth theoretical analysis, the design aims to create a residence that not only meets functional and aesthetic needs, but also optimizes sleep quality and healthy physiological rhythms for residents. The application of design principles that are responsive to the physical and social environment, as well as considering users' physiological needs such as circadian rhythms, aims to address the challenges posed by the urban sprawl phenomenon. The design method involves data collection through case studies, occupant surveys, and site analysis. In order to collect data, information was extracted based on the aspects of the Human-Centered Design pyramid. Residential design that responds to fatigue and stress caused by excessive commuting plays an important role in improving the well-being of commuting workers. Such aspects include the selection of neutral colors, the use of responsive facades, and symmetrical spatial arrangements.. Thus, the residence is not only a refuge from the fatigue of daily commuting, but also an environment that supports the recovery of energy and biological health of its residents, thereby reducing the overall negative effects of excessive commuting and supporting their well-being.
