Abstract

============================================================

Berau Regency, East Kalimantan Province, occupies a strategic position in supporting sustainable programs, both at the national and global levels. Efforts to achieve low-carbon development have become the top priority in Berau District, considering its vast potential of tropical forests covering 2 million hectares and the Coral Triangle area with its coastal ecosystems capable of transferring and storing carbon from both the atmosphere and the sea. Sustainable development here requires serious attention to the balance between environmental, social, and economic aspects. Batu-Batu Eco Village, located in Berau Regency, is a development area initiative that offers a community investment concept. This concept is not only sustainable, but also integrated with various aspects, including considerations regarding permaculture, nature conservation, ecological zoning, and utilization of natural energy sources. It is important to simplify the strategy and concrete steps taken to achieve this goal. In this context, strategic efforts are needed to optimize the potential of Batu-Batu Eco Village as a response to carbon emissions and as part of a global sustainable development plan. An in-depth analysis of building design concepts that can be implemented in Batu-Batu Eco Village is essential, and the results of this analysis must include designs that can be built together with the community.
