Abstract

===========================================================

Fire is an oxidizing event where 3 elements are combined, specifically materials, oxygen, and heat that can cause a fire in an area but is not handled quickly so that it grows and spreads to other areas causing material loss or even human death. Fire also unpredictable when and where wil it happen, how the area burned, and how much los will be caused. Fire hydrant system is one of the important aspect for security as a preventive of fire hazards. Design of fire hydrant installation is accordance in SNI and NFPA. In this final project proposal is design of a fire hydrant installation at the faculty of vocational ITS (DTMI, DTKI,and DTEO) which does not yet have a fire hydrant installation.
The process of designing this fire hydrant installation includes: 1. Design a fire hydrant pipe installation with the position of the hydrant pillar and sprinkler in accordance with NFPA and SNI standards; 2. Calculate the Effective Head of the pump installation in the fire hydrant installation both analytically and numerically using Pipe Flow Expert software with working fluid water and flow in the pipe assumed steady flow and incompressible; 3. Selection of the right pump in the fire hydrant installation.
In the design of fire hydrant installations that are in accordance with NFPA and SNI standards, 6 hydrant pillars are obtained with pump specifications with a capacity of 0.06325 m3 / s, Effective Head 112.347 m, NPSHA 6.962 m, and motor power 110 kWatt.
