Abstract
MARPOL menjelaskan bahwa kapal tanker yang dibangun setelah 6 Juli 1996 wajib menggunakan double hull dan double bottom dengan minimum ukuran yang telah ditetapkan. Penggunaan double bottom yang terdapat pada kapal masih dapat dioptimalkan kembali agar dapat memaksimalkan volume ruang muat. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan optimisasi terhadap ukuran konfigurasi double bottom sehingga penggunaan double bottom dapat tetap optimal dan volume ruang muat tetap dapat dimaksimalkan dengan tetap mengacu pada regulasi yang berlaku yaitu MARPOL dan CSR. Analisis optimisasi double bottom dilakukan menggunakan bantuan pemrograman Visual Basic Application (VBA) dengan metode direct search approach. Program yang dibuat kemudian akan menganalisis control point pada pemodelan double bottom hingga akan diperoleh ukuran double bottom yang paling optimal. Setelah dioptimisasi, desain double bottom yang telah dioptimisasi memiliki volume 43743,506 m3 yang berarti meningkat sebesar 317,429 m3 dari desain sebelumnya. Hal ini berarti bahwa dengan displacement yang sama, pembangunan kapal serupa di kemudian hari maka dapat memotong panjang kapal sepanjang 0,853 m dari panjang awal kapal. Pengurangan panjang kapal juga akan berdampak pada pengurangan berat kapal sebesar 54,63 ton sehingga dapat mengurangi biaya material sebesar Rp1.780.957.458,32.

MARPOL explains that tankers built after July 6, 1996 must be fitted with a double hull and double bottom with a minimum size that has been determined. The use of the double bottom found on the ship can still be optimized again in order to maximize the volume of the loading space. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the size of the double bottom configuration so that the use of the double bottom can remain optimal and the volume of the loading space can still be maximized while still referring to the applicable regulations, namely MARPOL and CSR. Double bottom optimization analysis is carried out using Visual Basic Application (VBA) programming with the direct search approach method. The program will analyze the control points on the double bottom modeling until the most optimal double bottom size is obtained. After optimization, the optimized double bottom design has a volume of 43743,506 m3 which means increases 317,429 m3 from the existing design. It means that the construction of a similar ship in the future can cut the length of the ship by 0.853 m from the initial length of the ship. The reduction in ship length will also have an impact on reducing the weight of the ship by 54,63 tons so that it can reduce shipbuilding costs by Rp1.780.957.458,32.
