Abstract

Salah
satu RTH di Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) terletak di kawasan Rektorat. Adapun,
Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) sehingga diperoleh Nilai Indeks Kerusakan (NIK) lalu
ditentukan status kesehatannya, yaitu sehat (0 ≤ NIK ≤ 5), rusak ringan (6 ≤ NIK ≤ 10), rusak
rusak berat.

Trees as a component of green open space can help overcome the intensive increase in
temperature due to the urban heat island effect, reduced soil infiltration, low humidity, and
decreased human health due to pollution. One of the open spaces at the Sepuluh Nopember
Institute of Technology (ITS) is located in the Rectorate area. Meanwhile, the poor physical
condition of the trees can endanger road users in the area. This research aims to identify the
habitus of trees in the Rectorate area and their health status. Observations were carried out using
the census method on trees with a trunk diameter of >10 cm in 4 areas. Tree health identification
is carried out using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method to obtain a Damage Index
Value (NIK) and then determine its health status, namely healthy (0 ≤ NIK ≤ 5), slightly
damaged (6 ≤ NIK ≤ 10), moderately damaged (11 ≤ NIK ≤ 15) and heavily damaged (16 ≤
NIK ≤ 21). Based on the research results, there were 41 species of tree habitus plants from 17
family that were identified. The total number of trees observed was 304 individuals. There were
289 trees with healthy health status, 14 trees with slightly damaged health status, 1 tree with
moderately damaged health status and no trees with heavily damaged status.
