Abstract

Archaeological study is one of the important efforts to reveal and understand the distribution of buried temple rocks. This study aims to determine the position of the distribution of temples at the Tondowongso Site, Gayam Village, Gurah District, Kediri Regency using the self-potential (SP) method. The SP method was chosen for its ability to detect variations in natural electrical conductivity below the ground surface, which can identify the presence of rock structures and archaeological artifacts. The SP method measurements used a fixed-base approach with a spacing between measurement points of 2 m and 8 trajectories spread across the Tondowongso Site. Furthermore, the SP data was filtered using the Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN) method to remove noise in the SP data. The filtered SP data that indicated anomalies were inversed using the Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) algorithm to produce SP data parameters. The results obtained indicate the presence of an anomaly identified as a temple distribution at a depth of 1.4 ± 0.1 to 3.9 ± 0.2 meters, with the approximate shape of the anomaly being a vertical cylinder and a horizontal cylinder. This depth correlates with the VLF method which estimates a depth of about 5 meters. Meanwhile, the direction of the temple distribution is thought to be towards the south, based on correlation with the magnetic method that interprets the anomaly source as an excavated site.
