Abstract

The Tondowongso site is one of the relics of the Kediri Kingdom located in Tondowoso Hamlet and Sumber Petung Hamlet, Gayam Village, Gurah District, Kediri Regency, East Java. The site was first discovered by local residents in 2006 and an excavation process was carried out in 2007 by archaeologists who identified it as a sacred building complex. The excavation results show that the temple relief is generally composed of bricks that are diamagnetic, while the geology of the Tondowongso Site area is composed of lava deposits that are ferromagnetic. Thus, a geomagnetic survey was conducted to identify the distribution of the Tondowongso Temple site. Measured geomagnetic data were analyzed through data correction (daily variation correction and earth's main magnetic field correction), separation of local and regional anomalies, reduction to pole (RTP), vertical and horizontal gradients, and analytic signal (AS). By using some of these methods, the estimated direction of distribution of the Tondowongso Site rocks is identified to the south towards the southwest. This assumption is reinforced by the results of data analysis of VLF-EM, self potential, and resistivity methods at the same location which also show the same distribution direction. Quantitatively, the geomagnetic data for the local anomalies were inversed using the Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) algorithm to determine the shape and depth of the constituent rocks of the Tondowongso Site. The inversion results show that the anomalies suspected to be the constituent rocks of the Tondowongso Site are vertical dyke-shaped with a depth of 4.11±0.55 m in incision A - A', 4.62±0.76 m in incision B - B', and 4.92±0.15 m for incision C - C' in accordance with the excavation results of 1-3 m and 4-5 m deep.
