Abstract

Accidents and asset damage on ships are the result of the late development of operational safety in the maritime world. Safety monitoring and control systems for ship assets, such as total fuel consumption, are needed to reduce the risk of asset failure, especially in engine components. In the current era, a digital asset remote monitoring and control system has been popularized, namely the Digital Twin Technology. Digital Twin can utilize sensors to read engine parameters and transmit the reading data virtual, so that monitoring and control can be accurately, and real-time. In this research, sensors and PLC will be developed and used in Digital Twin Technology for monitoring systems. The waterflow sensor is used in this research to monitor the total fuel consumption by measuring the volume of fuel flow that run, during engine running in the external tank line. The waterflow sensor will be connected to the PLC, Power Supply, and Step-down Module. All data that has been read by the sensor will be send to the local interface via SCADA and database server via My-SQL. Data received by SCADA will be displayed local on the spot via HMI (Human Machine Interface) near the machine. Data received by My-SQL will be automatically connected to front-end mobile apps, so that monitoring can be done through mobile apps, and real-time machine running history data is automatically saved on the database server.
