Abstract

Indonesia, the largest archipelagic country in the world with more than 17,000 islands, possesses extensive coastlines and vast maritime territories, showcasing abundant natural beauty. However, this unique geography also presents significant challenges, particularly in logistics and education. The distribution of goods and essential supplies to remote islands is often hampered by limited infrastructure and extreme weather conditions, impacting both the economy and access to quality education. Remote areas face severe educational challenges due to limited access and infrastructure, preventing many children from receiving adequate education. Lembata Island in East Nusa Tenggara exemplifies these difficulties, with its limited infrastructure, challenging geographical conditions, and minimal access to schools. To address these issues, this Final Project proposes the design of a Learning Space Vessel aimed at overcoming educational challenges on remote islands like Lembata. This vessel has a payload 116 passenger and has a planning for 30 minutes at a speed 6 Knots. The main dimension of this vessel were obtained, L= 55 meters, B= 10 meters, H= 4 meters, T = 2 meters. These main dimensions have met the technical aspects according to the requirements of Non-Convention Vessel Standard, SOLAS, Indonesian Classification Bureau and Indonesian Government Regulations. The results of these calculations are then used to design Lines Plans, General Arrangements, Safety Plans, and 3D Models.
