Abstract

This research presents a self-healing smart microgrid monitoring and power management system. At PT MHU (Multi Harapan Utama) LKCT (Loa Kulu Coal Terminal) site, solar power plants have been integrated into the microgrid, which previously relied on generator sets and PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) electricity. Despite these benefits, the system’s monitoring and control are limited. This study develops a robust and intelligent microgrid that incorporates real-time monitoring, control, power management, and self-restoring capabilities.
The microgrid's real-time monitoring and control system is efficiently designed to detect and analyze network disturbances. A power management system is necessary to enhance efficiency and dependability through optimal power distribution. This study incorporates self-healing features into smart microgrids to realize autonomous detection, prevention, separation, and restoration of network disruptions.
Through the Siemens TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal, the study compared the simulation results of a conventional system and an online monitoring and control system with power management to an online monitoring and control system with power management and self-healing features. The results will guide companies in enhancing their electricity systems’ efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
