Abstract

Ruang publik merupakan ruang yang didesain dapat menampung sejumlah orang dalam melakukan aktivitas yang bersifat publik sesuai dengan fungsi ruang publik tersebut. Manusia sebagai makhluk sosial memiliki kepribadian individual untuk memenuhi kebutuhan privasinya dalam melakukan aktivitas di ruang publik. Kantor dengan konsep desain terbuka merupakan salah satu contoh ruang publik. Produktivitas dan efisiensi karyawan dalam bekerja menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam keberhasilan suatu perusahaan. Hal tersebut dapat berjalan dengan baik jika didukung dengan setting interior ruang kantor yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dan memberikan kenyamanan bagi para karyawan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana setting interior dan gangguan lingkungan pada ruang kantor PT. Baratha Group mempengaruhi preferensi perilaku karyawan terhadap privasi visual ruang kantor. Hasil dari penelitian ini ruang kantor PT. Baratha Group belum mampu menunjang kebutuhan privasi visual karyawan saat bekerja. Karyawan yang menempati ruang kantor cenderung memiliki keinginan menyendiri (solitude) dan keinginan untuk menjauh (seclusion) sehingga mengalami gangguan privasi visual karena kondisi setting ruang kerja. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memberi rekomendasi menggunakan pembatas fisik fitur semi-tetap berupa partisi dinding gypsum dengan kombinasi kaca tempered dan partisi furniture sebagai penyekat antar karyawan. Selain itu, peneliti juga me-redesain tata letak posisi duduk karyawan sesuai alur pekerjaan agar dapat meminimalisir gangguan privasi visual dan meningkatkan efisiensi kerja para karyawan.

Public space is a space that is designed to accommodate a number of people who carry out public activities in accordance with the function of the public space. Human as social being have individual personalities to fulfill their privacy needs in carrying out activities in public places. An office with an open design concept is an example of a public space. Employee productivity and efficiency at work is one of the important factors in the success of acompany. It will goes well if it’s supported by interior office settings that meet the needs and provide comfort for the employees. The purpose of this research is to explore how the interior settings and environmental disturbances in office space of PT. Baratha Group influences employee behavior preferences towards the visual privacy of office space. The results of this study show that the office space of PT. Baratha Group has not been able to support the need for visual privacy of employees while working. Employees who occupy office space tend to have a desire to be alone (solitude) and a desire to stay away (seclusion) so that they experience visual privacy disturbances due to the conditions of the workspace setting. Therefore, researchers recommend using physical barriers in the form of semi-fixed partition features in the form of gypsum walls with a combination of tempered glass and furniture partitions as dividers between employees. In addition, researchers also redesign the layout of employee seating positions according to the work flow in order to minimize visual privacy disturbances and increase employee work efficiency.
