Abstract
mengembangkan limbah pohon pisang (serat pohon pisang) menjadi pengganti alternatif
fiber glass.

Indonesia is an agricultural country that has various natural resources which should be
utilized optimally, for example the distribution and growth of banana trees in Indonesia is
very extensive and fertile. Until now, most of the banana trees have only been taken from
the fruit and leaves of the banana tree, the rest is just unused waste, although banana tree
waste can decompose itself and become fertilizer again for the soil, but with the advantage
of banana stem fiber which is easy to absorb. water and with this experiment we can develop
banana tree waste (banana tree fiber) into an alternative substitute for fiber glass. With
production techniques that are still manual, the results of this research, based on the values
that came out in the tensile test, can be concluded that the banana leaf stem or STP fiber
composite still does not meet the minimum number of BKI regulations. This could be due
to many deficiencies in the production stages, starting from fiber extraction which can affect
the inter-fiber volume and fiber length. Continuing with laminating the fiber with resin, it
must be ensured that the resin can enter the gaps to avoid empty spaces being filled with air.
