Abstract

PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang menggunakan water cooled chiller dalam proses produksinya. Mesin water cooled chiller yang digunakan PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia adalah tipe RCWHF1 dengan kapasitas pendingin sebesar 5.626 kW. Pada proses produksi MSG, mesin water chiller ini digunakan untuk mendinginkan air yang digunakan untuk proses fermentasi dan recovery. Seiring dengan meningkatnya demand dari customer maka koefisien prestasi dari mesin water cooled chiller perlu ditunjang. Menurut analisa dari teknisi pemeliharaan PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia, biaya operasional mesin water cooled chiller dinilai terlalu besar, hingga mencapai angka Rp 84.414.000/hari nya. Maka dari itu, diusulkan-lah judul penelitian ini sebagai upaya peningkatan koefisien prestasi dari mesin water cooled chiller ini guna mendukung dan menunjang kehandalan mesin beroperasi menyuplai utilitas.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana penurunan tekanan pada kondensor berdampak pada kinerja sistem refrigerasi pada mesin centrifugal water cooled chiller tipe RCWHF1. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua metode analisis: yang pertama menggunakan metode perhitungan teoritis, dan yang kedua menggunakan pendeketan analisis numerik software coolpack. Variasi tekanan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 4 variasa diantaranya : 0,904 MpA, 0,880 MpA, 0,840 MpA dan 0,780 MpA.
Hasil Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa, semakin rendah tekanan refrigerant pada sisi kondensor, maka semakin tinggi nilai Coefficient of Performance (COP) pada tekanan 0,904 MpA nilai (COP) bernilai 8,44, pada tekanan 0,880 MpA nilai (COP) bernilai 8,75, pada tekanan 0,840 MpA nilai (COP) bernilai 9,28 dan pada variasi tekanan terendah, nilai (COP) bernilai 10,24.

PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia is one of the companies that uses water cooled chiller in its production process. The water cooled chiller machine used by PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia is type RCWHF1 with a cooling capacity of 5,626 kW. In the MSG production process, this water chiller machine is used to cool the water used for the fermentation and recovery process. Along with the increasing demand from customers, the performance coefficient of the water cooled chiller machine needs to be supported. According to the analysis of the maintenance technician of PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia, the operational cost of the water cooled chiller machine is considered too large, reaching Rp 84,414,000 per day. Therefore, the title of this research is proposed as an effort to increase the coefficient of performance of this water cooled chiller machine in order to support and support the reliability of the machine operating to supply utilities.
The purpose of this study is to see how the pressure drop in the condenser impacts the performance of the refrigeration system in a centrifugal water cooled chiller type RCWHF1. This research uses two methods of analysis: the first uses theoretical calculation methods, and the second uses the numerical analysis approach of coolpack software. The pressure variations in this study amounted to 4 variations including: 0.904 MpA, 0.880 MpA, 0.840 MpA and 0.780 MpA.
The results of this study prove that, the lower the refrigerant pressure on the condenser side, the higher the Coefficient of Performance (COP) value at a pressure of 0.904 MpA the value (COP) is 8.44, at a pressure of 0.880 MpA the value (COP) is 8.75, at a pressure of 0.840 MpA the value (COP) is 9.28 and at the lowest pressure variation, the value (COP) is 10.24.
