Abstract
Adanya kekhawatiran tentang meningkatnya gas rumah kaca menyebabkan ketatnya peraturan mengenai gas buang kapal. Pemilihan sistem propulsi kini menjadi tawaran solusi. Salah satunya yaitu dengan mengaplikasikan sistem propulsi diesel-elektrik. Di Indonesia, masih banyak kapal pengangkut ikan yang menggunakan sistem propulsi mekanis dibandingkan diesel-elektrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkonversi sistem propulsi mekanis menjadi sistem propulsi diesel-elektrik untuk melihat bagaimana penerapannya secara teknikal pada kapal pengangkut ikan hidup 200 GT yang sesuai dengan pola operasionalnya. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan pemilihan spesifikasi, didapatkan generator 4 buah dengan ukuran 616 kW berjumlah 2 dan 125 kW berjumlah 2, motor listrik berukuran 500 kW berjumlah 2, dan 2 buah propeller L-Drive berukuran 500 kW. Konfigurasi tersebut mampu konsumsi bahan bakar dari 17,06 ton menjadi 15,80 ton.

Concerns about increasing greenhouse gases have led to strict regulations on ship
exhaust gases. The choice of propulsion system now offers a solution. One of them is by
applying a diesel-electric propulsion system. In Indonesia, there are still many fishing
vessels that use mechanical propulsion systems rather than diesel-electric. This research
aims to convert the mechanical propulsion system into a diesel-electric propulsion system to
see how it is applied technically on a 200 GT live fish carrier in accordance with its
operational pattern. Based on the results of calculations and selection of specifications, 4
generators of 616 kW and 125 kW were obtained, 2 electric motors of 500 kW, and 2 L
Drive propellers of 500 kW. The configuration is able to reduce fuel consumption from 17.06
tons to 15.80 tons.
