Abstract

The ratio control system is designed in the process of making cooking oil, including to maintain the ratio between the two fluid flows of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Ethanol. The process of mixing the two liquids uses the liquid-liquid extraction method. The PLC acts as a controller to manage input-output signals continuously, there is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) which allows real-time monitoring of the flow rate by the user. With this method, the efficiency of making cooking oil base ingredients can be monitored through tools for making cooking oil base ingredients. Obtained the results of the analysis from the design carried out for the 3 set points given., Set point 1 for a ratio of 6:12.5 for CPO and Ethanol. Testing of the CPO ratio control system has a PWM Ton value of 4160 from a total period (Ttot) of 32000 and is used at all set points to reach a set point of 6 L/h. However, measurements were carried out manually using a measuring cup in units of 100 ml/m to validate the results. Ethanol, PWM value Ton 2987 from Ttot 32000 to reach the set point of 12.5 L/h. Set point 2 for a 6:15 ratio. to reach a set point of 15 L/h Ethanol, the PWM value is Ton 3051 from (Ttot) 32000. Set point 3 for a ratio of 6:20. In reaching a set point of 20 L/h, Ethanol has a PWM Ton value of 3403 from (Ttot) 32000. Optimal results are obtained for set point 2, namely with a ratio of 6:15
