Abstract

Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) merupakan satu aspek krusial dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan mengingat tiap individu berpengaruh dalam potensinya menjadi agen pembangunan. Persaingan yang semakin ketat, didukung dengan pesatnya perkembangan globalisasi dan teknologi, menciptakan standar yang lebih tinggi untuk kualitas sumber daya manusia. Dorongan untuk memperkuat daya saing Indonesia pada kancah internasional pun semakin besar. Peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia dapat dilakukan, salah satunya dengan mengembangkan kapabilitas kepemimpinan pada generasi muda melalui organisasi global, seperti AIESEC in Surabaya. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mengidentifikasi strategi yang diterapkan oleh AIESEC in Surabaya dalam mengembangkan kapabilitas kepemimpinan member organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer melalui wawancara dengan pengurus, member, dan alumni AIESEC in Surabaya, serta data sekunder melalui studi literatur. Penelitian ini memberikan penjabaran tentang persepsi member dan alumni AIESEC in Surabaya terhadap kapabilitas kepemimpinan yang dikembangkan dalam organisasi, yaitu: 1) Member dan alumni menyadari tantangan SDM di era global, 2) Kapabilitas kepemimpinan penting untuk dimiliki tiap individu, 3) Kapabilitas kepemimpinan yang dikembangkan dapat diaplikasikan untuk kepentingan diluar organisasi. AIESEC in Surabaya memiliki beberapa strategi untuk mengembangkan kapabilitas kepemimpinan member, diantaranya melalui: 1) Pelatihan, 2) Konferensi, 3) Capacity building, 4) Development plan and tracker, dan 5) Pertemuan privat. Penelitian ini mampu memberikan pengetahuan dan penjelasan tentang arti penting organisasi berskala internasional dalam mengembangkan kapabilitas kepemimpinan untuk menghadapi tantangan di era global.

Human Resources (HR) are a crucial aspect in sustainable development considering that each individual has an influence on their potential to become agents of development. Increasingly fierce competition, supported by the rapid development of globalization and technology, is creating higher standards for the quality of human resources. The push to strengthen Indonesia's competitiveness on the international stage is getting bigger. Improving the quality of human resources can be done, one of which is by developing leadership capabilities in the younger generation through global organizations, such as AIESEC in Surabaya. The main objective of this research is to find out and identify the strategies implemented by AIESEC in Surabaya in developing the leadership capabilities of organizational members. This research uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The data sources used in this research are primary data through interviews with administrators, members, and alumni of AIESEC in Surabaya, as well as secondary data through literature studies. This research provides an explanation of the perceptions of AIESEC members and alumni in Surabaya regarding the leadership capabilities developed within the organization, namely: 1) Members and alumni are aware of HR challenges in the global era, 2) Leadership capabilities are important for every individual to have, 3) Leadership capabilities are developed can be applied for purposes outside the organization. AIESEC in Surabaya has several strategies to develop the leadership capabilities of its members, including through: 1) Training, 2) Conferences, 3) Capacity building, 4) Development plans and trackers, and 5) Private meetings. This research is able to provide knowledge and explanation about the importance of international scale organizations in developing leadership capabilities to face challenges in the global era.
