Abstract

Kota Surabaya sangat sarat akan sejarahnya yang panjang, dan salah satunya adalah musik. Banyak macam genre serta karya-karya terkenal lahir dari Kota Surabaya. Globalisasi serta tren musik membuat sejarah skena musik Surabaya di masa kejayaannya yakni di era kolonial sampai akhir era 90an mulai terlupakan oleh generasi penerus. Maka dari itu dirancanglah video motion graphic sejarah musik Kota Surabaya, sebagai media pembelajaran agar masyarakat terutama generasi muda dapat memahami bahwa Kota Surabaya juga memiliki citra penting dalam kancah musik nasional. Perancangan video motion graphic ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur tentang sejarah musik nusantara, riwayat skena musik Surabaya, sosok-sosok yang berkecimpung dalam memajukan musik Surabaya, serta data arsip-arsip kota Surabaya lainnya yang mendukung seperti koran, dan majalah, pengumpulan data lewat depth interview kepada para narasumber ahli sejarah musik, dan akumulasi hasil tersebut lalu dijadikan sebuah prototype dan final design video yang dinilai responnya oleh stakeholder yaitu Museum Musik Indonesia. Video motion graphic eksplainer perkembangan sejarah skena musik kota Surabaya dirancang sebagai pengingat dan pengenalan kembali akan dampak dari ikon-ikon kenamaan yang pernah meramaikan skena musik lokal dan nasional. Harapannya, dengan diadakannya perancangan ini, hasil karya musik dari Surabaya dapat selalu dikenang oleh generasi seterusnya, tidak hanya bagi warga lokal Surabaya melainkan juga seluruh masyarakat Indonesia. Video motion graphic eksplainer ini nantinya akan diunggah ke YouTube, serta media pendukung lainnya seperti konten media sosial untuk Instagram.

The city of Surabaya is very rich in its long history, and one of them is music. Many genres and famous works were born in the city of Surabaya. Globalization and music trends have made the history of the Surabaya music scene in its heyday, namely from the colonial era until the end of the 90s, begin to be forgotten by the next generation. Therefore, a motion graphic video of the history of Surabaya City music was designed as a learning medium so that the public, especially the younger generation, can understand that Surabaya City also has an important image in the national music scene. The design of this motion graphic video uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method on the history of Indonesian music, the history of the Surabaya music scene, figures involved in advancing Surabaya music, as well as other supporting Surabaya city archive data such as newspapers and magazines, data collection through depth interviews with expert sources of music history, and the accumulation of these results is then used as a prototype and final video design whose response is assessed by stakeholders, namely the Indonesian Music Museum. The motion graphic video explainer of the development of the history of the Surabaya city music scene is designed as a reminder and reintroduction to the impact of famous icons who have enlivened the local and national music scenes. It is hoped that with this design, the musical works from Surabaya can always be remembered by the next generation, not only by local Surabaya residents, but also for all Indonesian people. This motion graphic explainer video will later be uploaded to YouTube, as well as other supporting media such as social media content for Instagram.
