Abstract
Membran geopolimer fotokatalis berbahan dasar metakaolin telah berhasil disintesis dan diaplikasikan untuk pengurangan limbah sintetis pewarna tekstil. Metakaolin yang digunakan sebagai bahan dasar diperoleh melalui tahap kalsinasi kaolin Bangka selama 2 jam pada suhu 650 °C. Membran disintesis dengan penambahan NaOH dan Na2SiO3 sebagai basa pengkatif dan H2O2 sebagai agen pembentuk pori. Kinerja membran ditingkatkan dengan penambahan fotokatalis TiO2, ZnO dan NiO dengan loading 2,50; 5,00; 10,00% w/w geopolimer. Membran geopolimer yang terbentuk dikarakterisasi dengan FTIR, SEM, XRD, pori terbuka. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa fotokatalis yang ditambahkan pada membran tidak merusak kerangka utama metakaolin. Uji kinerja membran dilakukan dengan filtrasi limbah sintesis pewarna tekstil dengan reaktor dead end dengan tekanan 0,50 bar selama 60 menit dan fluks diukur setiap 10 menit, serta dengan dua perlakuan yaitu tanpa sinar UV dan dengan sinar UV. Dilakukan evaluasi kinerja pada permeabilitas, rejection value, serta kualitas permeat yang meliputi DO, TDS, dan pH. Hasil filtrasi tanpa sinar UV diperoleh fluks optimum pada membran geopolimer fotokatalis ZnO loading 10% yaitu 11,43 (L/m2.jam.bar) dengan rejeksi 92,10%, sedangkan dengan sinar UV diperoleh hasil optimum filtrasi pada membran geopolimer TiO2 loading 5,00% yaitu 23,96 (L/m2.jam.bar) dan rejeksi 98,68%. Pada pengukuran kualitas permeat diperoleh hasil dengan DO 20,90 ppm, TDS 206,00 ppm dan pH 8,03.
Photocatalyst geopolymer membranes based on metakaolin have been successfully synthesized and applied for the reduction of synthetic textile dye waste. The metakaolin used as the basic material was obtained through the calcination stage of Bangka Kaolin for 2 hours at a temperature of 650 °C. The membrane was synthesized by adding NaOH and Na2SiO3 as activating bases and H2O2 as a pore forming agent. Membrane performance was improved by adding, TiO2, ZnO and NiO photocatalysts with a loading of 2.50; 5.00; 10.00% w/w% geopolymer. The geopolymer membrane formed was characterized by FTIR, SEM, XRD, and open pores. The characterization results show that the photocatalyst added to the membrane does not damage the main framework of metakaolin. The membrane performance test was carried out by filtration of textile dye synthesis waste with a dead-end reactor with a pressure of 0.50 bar for 60 minutes, and the flux was measured every 10 minutes, as well as with two treatments, namely without UV light and with UV light. Performance evaluation was carried out on permeability, rejection value, and permeate quality, including DO, TDS, and pH. The results of filtration without UV light obtained an optimum flux on the ZnO photocatalyst geopolymer membrane loading 10%, namely 11.43 (L/m2.hour.bar), with a rejection of 92.10%, while with UV light the optimum filtration results were obtained on the TiO2 loading geopolymer membrane. 5.00%, namely 23.96 (L/m2.hour.bar) and rejection 98.68%. In measuring the quality of the permeate, the results obtained were DO 20.90 ppm, TDS 206.00 ppm, and pH 8.03.
