Abstract
Senyawa 8-deoksigartanin merupakan senyawa turunan xanton yang dapat ditemukan dalam kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) dan telah terbukti memiliki aktivitas anti-kanker, anti-tumor, anti-proliferatif, dan pro-apoptosis. Preparasi 8-deoksigartanin dalam skala nano menjadi kandidat yang menjanjikan sebagai material anti-kanker. Namun, stabilitas obat nano 8-deoksigartanin dalam lingkungan biologis masih menjadi tantangan karena mudah beragregasi. Strategi untuk meningkatkan stabilitasnya adalah dengan melakukan pelapisan dengan gelatin, polimer yang mudah terurai secara alami dan sering digunakan dalam farmasi. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan skrining pelarut dengan metode re-presipitasi, pelapisan obat nano dengan gelatin, dan pengaruh pH terhadap stabilitas obat nano terlapisi gelatin. Ukuran partikel obat nano dikarakterisasi dengan Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), sementara morfologinya diamati dengan Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan gelatin berhasil meningkatkan stabilitas obat nano 8-deoksigartanin. Semakin besar konsentrasi gelatin yang ditambahkan, ukuran partikel yang dihasilkan cenderung semakin meningkat. Ukuran partikel menunjukkan hasil yang optimal dengan pelapisan 10 µg/mL pada pH 7.

8-Deoxygartanin, a xanthone derivative found in the peel of mangosteen fruit (Garcinia mangostana L.), has demonstrated potent anticancer, anti-tumor, anti-proliferative, and pro-apoptotic properties. The preparation of 8-deoxygartanin at the nanoscale has emerged as a promising anticancer material. However, the stability of 8-deoxygartanin nanodrugs in biological environments remains a challenge due to their tendency to aggregate. One strategy to enhance their stability is to coat them with gelatin, a naturally biodegradable polymer frequently used in pharmaceuticals. This study involves solvent screening using the re-precipitation method, coating the nanodrugs with gelatin, and investigating the effect of pH on the stability of gelatin-coated nanodrugs. Particle size was characterized using a Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), while morphology was observed using a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). Results indicate that the addition of gelatin significantly improved the stability of 8-deoxygartanin nanodrugs. Increasing the concentration of gelatin led to a corresponding increase in particle size. Optimal particle size was achieved with a 10 μg/mL gelatin coating at pH 7'
