Abstract

AIS system (Automatic Identification System) was ship-to-ship communication aiming at proper and timely identification of vessels, and subsequently, improving safety of navigation. In 2000 the installation of AIS Class A was made mandatory by IMO through SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 19 and these regulations apply in full to all ships that carry out international shipping, cargo ships weighing more than 500 GT that do not carry out international shipping, and all passenger ships of any size. In 2006 AIS Class B was applied to small ships or ships that were not required to use AIS but many of these ship owners still installed AIS so that ships could be detected and detect another ship. AIS system (Automatic Identification System) was ship-to-ship communication aiming at proper and timely identification of vessels, and subsequently, improving the safety of navigation. The calculation results show that the average transmit power for AIS class A is -63.72. For AIS class B it is -71.13. For AIS Class B+ it is - 69.65. It is known that the sensitivity of the receiver is the same, namely -107 dBm. The antenna gain value is directly proportional to the power emitted.

Diketahui sensitivitas penerima sama yaitu -107 dBm. Nilai gain antena berbanding lurus dengan daya pancarnya.
