Abstract
Etanol merupakan salah satu bahan bakar alternatif terbarukan yang dapat menggantikan maupun dicampur dengan bensin. Produsen bahan bakar dalam negeri PT Pertamina meluncurkan bahan bakar yang merupakan campuran bensin dan etanol yang disebut Pertamax Green. Pertamax Green di klaim dapat meningkatkan performa dengan emisi gas buang yang rendah. Studi eksperimen ini dilakukan dengan media motor Honda Genio dengan bahan bakar E5 Pertamax Green dan E0 Shell V Power. Pengujian dilakukan pada rasio kompresi standar yaitu 10:1. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan Superflow dynamometer & flowbenches dan GUT Gasboard 5000 gas analyzer pada kondisi fully open throttle. Data yang diinginkan adalah performa mesin yaitu daya dan torsi, specific fuel consumption (SFC), efisiensi termal, air fuel ratio (AFR), serta emisi gas buang berupa CO, CO2, dan HC.
Hasil eksperimen adalah bahan bakar Shell V Power menghasilkan performa berupa daya dan torsi lebih besar 14,6% dan 14,5% lebih tinggi dibandingkan Pertamax Green. SFC tertinggi yang dihasilkan Pertamax Green 9,3% lebih tinggi dibandingkan Shell V Power. Efisiensi termal pada Pertamax Green lebih tinggi 3,1% dibandingkan Shell V Power. AFR pada Pertamax Green sedikit lebih rich dibandingkan Shell V Power, berada di angka 12,2 hingga 13,8, sedangkan V Power berada di angka 12,31 hingga 13,97. Emisi CO, CO2 dan HC yang dihasilkan oleh Pertamax Green lebih rendah dibandingkan Shell V Power. Emisi CO yang dihasilkan oleh Pertamax Green berada di rentang 0,19% hingga 1,3%, sedangkan V Power berada di rentang 0,39% hingga 2,24%. Emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan Pertamax Green berada di rentang 9,46% hingga 13,66%, sedangkan V Power berada di rentang 10,27% hingga 14,02%. Emisi HC yang dihasilkan Pertamax Green berada di rentang 128ppm hingga 294ppm, sedangkan V Power berada di rentang 167ppm hingga 337ppm. Klaim terhadap Pertamax Green sebagai bahan bakar ramah lingkungan terbukti dengan emisi CO, CO2 dan HC yang lebih rendah dibandingkan V Power.

Ethanol is a renewable alternative fuel that can replace or be mixed with gasoline. Domestic fuel producer PT Pertamina launched fuel which is a mixture of gasoline and ethanol called Pertamax Green. Pertamax Green is claimed to be able to improve performance with low exhaust emissions. This experimental study was carried out on a Honda Genio motorbike with E5 Pertamax Green and E0 Shell V Power fuel. Testing was carried out at a standard compression ratio of 10:1. Tests were carried out using Superflow dynamometer & flowbenches and GUT Gasboard 5000 gas analyzer at fully open throttle conditions. The desired data is engine performance, namely power and torque, specific fuel consumption (SFC), thermal efficiency, air fuel ratio (AFR), and exhaust emissions in the form of CO, CO2 and HC.
The experimental results show that Shell V Power fuel produces performance in the form of power and torque that is 14.6% and 14.5% higher than Pertamax Green. The highest SFC produced by Pertamax Green is 9.3% higher than Shell V Power. The thermal efficiency of Pertamax Green is 3.1% higher than Shell V Power. The AFR on Pertamax Green is slightly richer than Shell V Power, at 12.2 to 13.8, while V Power is at 12.31 to 13.97. CO, CO2 and HC emissions produced by Pertamax Green are lower than Shell V Power. CO emissions produced by Pertamax Green are in the range of 0.19% to 1.3%, while V Power is in the range of 0.39% to 2.24%. CO2 emissions produced by Pertamax Green are in the range of 9.46% to 13.66%, while V Power is in the range of 10.27% to 14.02%. HC emissions produced by Pertamax Green are in the range of 128ppm to 294ppm, while V Power is in the range of 167ppm to 337ppm. The claim for Pertamax Green as an environmentally friendly fuel is proven by lower CO, CO2 and HC emissions compared to V Power.
