Abstract
serviceability limit state (SLS).
Mean Value First Order Second Movement MVFSOM.

In this decade, oil and gas are still the main needs used in human life. This condition
makes the oil and gas industry continue to grow along with human needs that continue to
increase and result in depleting oil and gas reserves on land. This is what requires humans to
expand oil and gas exploration to offshore, in oil and gas exploration a safe and secure condition
is needed, then a serviceability limit state (SLS) analysis can be carried out. In this Final Project
research, a stress analysis was carried out on the star plate, then the star plate was analyzed for
reliability using the Mean Value First Order Second Movement MVFSOM simulation. In the
SACS analysis results, Unity Check is taken at the highest condition condition, namely at the
minimum operational condition, one of the joints between the deck leg and the beam is selected.
Then geometry modeling is done in ANSYS for further local analysis to find the stress. UC at
the intermediate joints is 0.166 for member 2015-2004, 0.281 for member 2218-2004, 0.330
for member 2229-2004, 0.413 for member 2030-2004, and 0.111 for member 1004-2004. The
results of the star plate stress analysis with plate thickness variations of 50 mm and 40 mm are
the maximum stresses of 117.97 MPa and 225.64 MPa. The results of the reliability analysis
obtained the reliability index at plate variations of 50 mm and 40 mm are 5.24 and 4.07,
respectively.
