Abstract

Anthropometric measurements in newborns are crucial to identify abnormal growth, directly related to infant morbidity and mortality concerning gestational age and anthropometric measurements. This study indicates that the implementation of toddler growth assessments in Indonesia has not fully adhered to existing standards and procedures, mainly due to inadequate facilities and infrastructure at workplaces. A baby growth monitoring tool has been developed using advanced technology to assist healthcare workers. This device employs four sliding sensors with TF-Mini LiDar to measure infant length and head circumference, a Load Sensor to measure weight, and an MLX90614 Sensor to measure body temperature. Additional mechanics, including two sliders and an adjustable mechanism for the temperature sensor placement, are implemented to optimize operation and measurement processes. This tool is deployed in PUSKESMAS to support basic anthropometric measurements and automatic recording in monitoring infant growth per WHO standards. The Smartbox-Multiple Measurement design has effectively demonstrated its capability to measure weight, length, head circumference, and body temperature with accuracies of 99.08%, 99.23%, 99.60%, and 99.56%, respectively. Measurement results can be accessed via a web server interface, facilitating comprehensive information retrieval regarding infant growth and development.
