Abstract

=======================================================
Hundreds or even thousands of equipment are operated in the Oil and Gas industry. Not all equipment has the same criticality level. By determining the criticality level of equipment, asset owners and managers can easily focus the resources needed to maintain the integrity of critical equipment assets. The Pareto principle states that 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes, a basic concept in understanding the criticality of assets in oil and gas production facilities.

This dissertation aims to develop methods and protocols for Static equipment Criticality Analysis (SECA) that support oil and gas production on offshore platforms and onshore receiving facilities. facilities). The developed SECA model and protocol have been tested to analyze field data in the form of 428 and 247 pipe tag numbers at the Wellhead Platform (WHP) and Offshore Receiving Facility (ORF) facilities, as well as 14 and 9 Pressure Vessel tag numbers at the WHP and ORF facilities.

The SECA protocol and methodology are tested for validity by comparing their results with the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) analysis for the same facility. The results of the SECA protocol and methodology validity test show a fairly high level of suitability. Sometimes, the SECA method is more stringent than the RBI analysis.
