Abstract
Kebisingan mengalami peningkatan di seluruh dunia karena meningkatnya aktivitas manusia di daerah perkotaan, mencakup lalu lintas, industri, serta jasa konstruksi. Paparan yang terlalu lama dengan kebisingan dapat mengakibatkan masalah kesehatan seperti penyakit kardiovaskular, gangguan pendengaran, gangguan tidur, perilaku sosial yang merugikan, dan lain-lain. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi kebisingan lalu lintas diantaranya menggunakan dinding untuk mengurangi kebisingan. Tembok penyengker sebagai sebuah tembok pembatas yang mengelilingi bangunan atau rumah-rumah di Bali, diduga dapat digunakan sebagai reduksi bising akibat kepadatan lalu lintas yang ada di lingkungan rumah. Paradigma penelitian bersifat positivist yang didasarkan atas natural science dan berada dalam lingkup sains bangunan serta berfokus pada eksplorasi tembok penyengker sebagai reduksi bising. Studi lapangan digunakan sebagai metode untuk mendapatkan data-data penelitian. Penelitian dilakukan pada rumah vernakular Bali yang memiliki beberapa massa bangunan dan dilengkapi tembok penyengker sebagai tembok pembatas. Penelitian berlokasi di Kabupaten Gianyar, dan berfokus pada tiga jalan kolektor yang terletak di Desa Celuk dan Desa Singapadu di Kecamatan Sukawati, serta Desa Lodtunduh di Kecamatan Ubud. Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan melakukan pengukuran terhadap variabel bebas yang ada, yakni ketebalan dan ketinggian tembok penyengker, alat ukur diletakan sejauh 1.5 meter ke arah sisi dalam dan sisi luar tembok penyengker, serta peak hour. Penelitian ini menghasilkan eksplorasi tembok penyengker pada rumah vernakular Bali dalam konteks sebagai reduksi bising. Tembok penyengker bermaterial bata merah dan paras dengan tipe pertama memiliki kemampuan reduksi lebih baik dibandingkan tipe kedua dan ketiga. Tembok penyengker bermaterial konkret dengan ketebalan 45 cm dengan tipe kedua memiliki kemampuan reduksi lebih baik dibandingkan yang memiliki ketebalan yang sama, dengan tipe berbeda. Tembok penyengker bermaterial bata merah dengan ketebalan minimal 20 cm, ketebalan minimal material paras 30 cm, serta minimal ketebalan tembok penyengker bermaterial konkret adalah 12 cm. Kemampuan reduksi bising untuk material yang diukur memiliki nilai antara 6-14 dB, semakin tebal maka semakin baik tingkat reduksinya. Ketinggian minimal tembok penyengker adalah 1,75 meter hingga 2 meter

Noise is increasing worldwide due to increasing human activities in urban areas, including traffic, industry, and construction services. Prolonged exposure to noise can cause health problems such as cardiovascular disease, hearing loss, sleep disorders, adverse social behavior, and others. Efforts that can be made to reduce traffic noise include using walls to reduce noise. A retaining wall as a boundary wall that surrounds buildings or houses in Bali, is thought to be able to be used as noise reduction due to traffic density in the home environment. The research paradigm is positivist based on natural science and is within the scope of building science and focuses on exploring retaining walls as noise reduction. Field studies are used as a method to obtain research data. The research was conducted on Balinese vernacular houses that have several building masses and are equipped with retaining walls as boundary walls. The research is located in Gianyar Regency, and focuses on three collector roads located in Celuk Village and Singapadu Village in Sukawati District, and Lodtunduh Village in Ubud District. The study was conducted by measuring the existing independent variables, namely the thickness and height of the retaining wall, the measuring instrument was placed 1.5 meters to the inside and outside of the retaining wall, and peak hours. This study resulted in an exploration of retaining walls in Balinese vernacular houses in the context of noise reduction. The retaining wall made of red brick and paras with the first type has better reduction capabilities than the second and third types. The retaining wall made of concrete with a thickness of 45 cm with the second type has better reduction capabilities than those with the same thickness, with different types. The retaining wall made of red brick with a minimum thickness of 20 cm, the minimum thickness of paras material is 30 cm, and the minimum thickness of the retaining wall made of concrete is 12 cm. The noise reduction capability for the measured materials has a value between 6-14 dB, the thicker the better the level of reduction. The minimum height of the retaining wall is 1.75 meters to 2 meters
