Abstract

Heater Treater merupakan sebuah fasilitas pengolahan waste water dengan prinsip kerja memisahkan antara tiga fasa yaitu minyak, gas dan air dengan proses pemanasan. Saat ini sistem burner pada Heater Treater yang ter-install di area PHKT (Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur) di terminal lawe lawe dioperasikan secara manual oleh operator dan sangat memungkinkan terjadinya human error. Suhu yang digunakan pada proses pembakaran berkisar 150 ˚F – 160 ˚F. Tahap pembakaran dilakukan dengan mengalirkan gas dengan presentase keluaran dari gas akan diatur menggunakan control valve dengan feedback menggunakan Temperature Indicator Transmitter. Dalam pengendalian suhu pada proses burner ini PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) digunakan sebagai alat pengontrol. Pemilihan metode kontrol akan dilakukan dengan membandingkan respon sistem terbaik dari kontrol P, PI dan PID menggunakan pendekatan Ziegler-Nichols tipe 2. Setelah dilakukan perbandingan ketiga metode kontrol, hasil respon terbaik sesuai dengan kebutuhan respon sistem yang akan diimplementasikan pada sistem. Hasil perbandingan didapatkan metode kontrol PI dinilai cocok untuk digunakan dalam sistem ini. Hasil yang didapat dari pengujian menggunakan metode kontrol PI yaitu nilai overshoot 3,25%, waktu rise time 778,35 detik, nilai steady state error 0,1029 % dan settling time 27,74 menit. Hasil sistem kontrol menggunakan metode kontrol PI Ziegler-Nichols menunjukan hasil lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembukaan manual.

Heater Treater is a waste water treatment facility with the working principle of separating the three phases of oil, gas and water by heating process. Currently the burner system on the Heater Treater installed in the PHKT (Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur) area at the lawe lawe terminal is operated manually by the operator and is very likely to cause human error. The temperature used in the combustion process ranges from 150 ˚F - 160 ˚F. The combustion stage is carried out by flowing gas with the output percentage of the gas will be regulated using a control valve with feedback using a Temperature Indicator Transmitter. In controlling the temperature in this burner process PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is used as a controller. The selection of control method will be done by comparing the best system response of P, PI and PID control using Ziegler-Nichols type 2 approach. After comparing the three control methods, the best response results according to the system response requirements will be implemented on the system. The comparison results obtained PI control method is considered suitable for use in this system. The results obtained from testing using the PI control method are overshoot value of 3.2%, rise time of 778.35 seconds, settling time value 0.1029 % and settling time of 27.24 minutes. The results of the control system using the Ziegler-Nichols PI control method show better results compared to manual opening.
