Abstract

To meet the demand for meat, there has been an increase in animal slaughtering activities in abattoirs. The results of the production of waste also increased. The negative impact of abattoir wastewater discharged into water bodies without being treated first can harm the environment. Slaughterhouse liquid waste containing blood, protein, fat, and suspended solids can cause high organic matter and nutrients. Concentrations of polluted materials found in abattoir wastewater such as BOD, COD, and TSS can harm the life of the biota, resulting in a negative impact on the life of the biota, resulting in pollution of the water body. To improve the quality of abattoir wastewater, treatment is needed first. Before the main research, the propagation, acclimatization, and range testing stages were carried out first. Sharp propagation is carried out for I month until shoots or secondgeneration plants grow which will be used for the next stage. During the acclimatization stage, the aim is to get plants that have adapted to the new environment. Then the range-finding test phase must be carried out to determine the concentration test of the substance used for the main test. The concentrations used were 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 40%, and 80% and were carried out for 7 days. Then the main test phase with the analyzed parameters, namely BOD, COD, and TSS. The study used a plastic reactor with a volume of 30 L which was carried out for 14 days. The variables used in this study were plant species (Eceng Gondok and Kayu Apu) and the type of RPH waste (Chicken and Cattle). The results obtained at the Range Finding Test stage showed that the water hyacinth
cattle slaughterhouse waste could live at a concentration of 10% of waste. Meanwhile, Water Lettuce can live with a waste concentration of 20%. Meanwhile, the wastewater hyacinth chicken RPH can live at a concentration of 20% waste. and Water Lettuce at a waste concentration of 20%. Meanwhile, the phytoprocess results showed that in the liquid waste of cattle slaughterhouse, the most effective BOD removal was 300.7 mgll for pumice, and the most effective COD removal was 368 mgll for Water Lettuce. The most effective TSS removal was on Water Lettuce. that is equal to 54.2 mgll In the liquid waste of chicken slaughterhouse the most effective removal of BOD on Water Lettuce is 65.4 mgll, the most effective removal of COD on Water Lettuce is 176 mgll, and the most effective removal ofTSS on Water Lettuce that is equal to 76.8 mgll
