Abstract

Turbin angin adalah salah satu energi terbarukan yang bayak digunakan dan mengalami perkembangan teknologi yang pesat akhir-akhir ini. Namun, permasalahan mendasar dari turbin angin adalah bagaimana turbin angin pada umumnya berputar dengan kecepatan angin yang dinamis dapat beroperasi pada keluaran daya yang diinginkan. Diperlukan strategi pengendalian untuk ekstraksi daya keluaran optimal dari sistem konversi energi angin yang sering disebut Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). Pada tugas akhir ini digunakan Variable Speed Wind Turbine (VSWT) dengan Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG). Metode pelacakan MPPT dilakukan dengan menghasilkan nilai referensi yang sesuai dengan tegangan konverter dc-to-dc untuk mendapatkan daya maksimum dari turbin angin mulai dari cut in hingga nilai kecepatan rated. Sementara sistem lain mengontrol nilai referensi arus dari DC-Link sehingga didapatkan nilai tegangan konstan. Analisa, desain, dan pemodelan pada sistem konversi energi angin dan MPPT akan disimulasikan menggunakan MATLAB/Simulink.

Wind turbines are a type of renewable energy that is widely used and has experienced rapid technological developments recently. However, the fundamental problem with wind turbines is how wind turbines generally rotating at dynamic wind speeds can operate at the desired power output. A control strategy is needed to extract optimal output power from a wind energy conversion system which is often called Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). In this final project, Variable Speed Wind Turbine (VSWT) with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) is used. The MPPT tracking method is carried out by generating a reference value that corresponds to the dc-to-dc converter voltage to obtain maximum power from the wind turbine starting from cut-in to the rated speed value. Meanwhile, another system controls the current reference value from DC-Link so that a constant voltage value is obtained. Analysis, design, and modeling of wind energy conversion systems and MPPT will be simulated using MATLAB/Simulink.
