Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis kerusakan yang terjadi pada belt conveyor di PT. Operation and Maintenance Indonesia, dengan hasil identifikasi kerusakan berupa keausan dan putusnya belt, missalignment, noise pada roller dan pulley, serta impact roller yang terlepas. Penyebab kerusakan tersebut meliputi gesekan belt dengan skrit rubber dan benda asing, ketidakcukupan kekencangan belt, bearing idler yang macet, serta kegagalan dalam perbaikan belt. Selain itu, adanya benda asing dalam bearing dan kurangnya sistem pelumasan juga menyebabkan kebisingan pada roller dan pulley. Benturan keras antara belt dan material di atas impact roller turut mempercepat kerusakan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, disarankan pemilihan elemen mesin yang sesuai, penerapan sistem pelumasan yang tepat, pemeliharaan rutin dan berkala, serta proses center belt yang benar untuk memperpanjang umur belt conveyor dan menjaga kinerja sistem.

This study analyzes the damage that occurs to the conveyor belt at PT Operation and Maintenance Indonesia, with the results of damage identification in the form of wear and tear of the belt, missalignment, noise on rollers and pulleys, and detached impact rollers. The causes of the damage include belt friction with skrit rubber and foreign objects, insufficient belt tightness, stuck idler bearings, and failure to repair the belt. In addition, the presence of foreign matter in the bearings and the lack of a lubrication system also cause noise in the rollers and pulleys. The violent collision between the belt and the material above the impact roller also accelerates the damage. To overcome these problems, it is recommended that the selection of suitable machine elements, the implementation of a proper lubrication system, regular and periodic maintenance, and the correct belt center process to extend the life of the conveyor belt and maintain system performance.
