Abstract

Teknologi memegang peran sentral dalam kemajuan dunia industri. Sebagian besar perusahaan memanfaatkan sebuah teknologi untuk memberikan kemudahan pada seluruh kegiatan operasional. Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam dunia industri salah satunya yaitu mesin yang digunakan untuk mengangkut berbagai jenis bahan curah dari tempat produksi ke tempat pembuangan. Adanya hal tersebut PT Ajinomoto Indonesia bekerjasama dengan PT Intan Global Sinergi dalam membuat mesin yang digunakan untuk memindahkan bottom ash batu bara dari dalam mesin boiler ke tempat penampungan limbah yaitu screw conveyor. Pelaksanaan penelitian dimulai dari melakukan studi literatur dan observasi lapangan, perancangan alat, perhitungan (rpm, daya, motor, torsi, perhitungan poros, pulley, dan umur bearing), analisis hasil dan pembahasan, serta kesimpulan. Perancangan ini memiliki tujuan yaitu untuk mendapatkan hasil rancangan screw conveyor dengan kapasitas 4 ton/jam yang memiliki panjang 6 meter, diameter selubung 270 milimeter, dan sudut 30°. Hasil dari penelitian ini mendapatkan rancangan screw conveyor dengan daya 1,5 HP, ratio gearbox sebesar 1:20, ratio rpm pulley 1:1,6 dengan diameter pulley penggerak 140 mm dan diameter pulley yang digerakkan 224 mm, bahan poros ASTM A36 dengan diameter 50 mm, dan SKF FY 50 TF bearing.

Technology plays a central role in the advancement of the industrial world. Most companies utilize technology to facilitate all operational activities. One application of technology in the industrial sector is machines used to transport various types of bulk materials from production sites to disposal areas. In this regard, PT Ajinomoto Indonesia collaborated with PT Intan Global Sinergi to develop a machine used for transferring coal bottom ash from the boiler to the waste storage area, specifically a screw conveyor. The research implementation started with a literature review and field observations, followed by equipment design, calculations (rpm, power, motor, torque, shaft calculation, pulley, and bearing lifespan), result analysis and discussion, and conclusions. This design aims to produce a screw conveyor capable of handling 4 tons/hour, with a length of 6 meters, a casing diameter of 270 millimeters, and a 30° incline angle. The results of this study yielded a screw conveyor design with a power of 1.5 HP, a gearbox ratio of 1:20, a pulley rpm ratio of 1:1.6, a drive pulley diameter of 140 mm, a driven pulley diameter of 224 mm, a shaft material of ASTM A36 with a diameter of 50 mm, and SKF FY 50 TF bearings.
