Abstract

Penggunaan berbagai jenis perekat pada konstruksi Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) beberapa kali telah digunakan untuk memulihkan air yang terkontaminasi, terutama kontaminan jenis logam berat timbal (Pb). Penggunaan berbagai variasi jenis perekat pada PRB biochar tempurung kelapa menghasilkan daya kuat dan efisiensi penyisihan yang berbeda. Penelitian pendahuluan mencakup uji karakteristik fisik biochar dan uji trial and error komposisi perekat gypsum dan tanah liat 15%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, dan 100%. Komposisi yang lolos trial and error dilanjutkan ke penelitian utama, yaitu uji adsorpsi di reaktor mengandung larutan Pb 89,37 mg/L dengan variasi jenis perekat gypsum dan tanah liat, dan komposisi 50%, 60%, 70%, dan 100% pada masing-masing perekat. Pengambilan sampel pada waktu kontak 3, 6, 12, 24 jam. Dilakukan analisis kandungan Pb, pH, suhu, dan EC pada sampel larutan. Sampel PRB dianalisis kadar perlindiannya melalui uji TCLP dan uji kuat tekan. Analisis seluruh parameter bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan komposisi perekat yang paling efektif. Jenis dan komposisi perekat mempengaruhi kemampuan adsorpsi Pb oleh PRB. Selain itu, efisiensi penyisihan juga dipengaruhi oleh pH, suhu, dan EC. pH yang semakin tinggi mempengaruhi peningkatan efisiensi penyisihan karena ion Pb+ berikatan dengan OH-. Komposisi dan jenis perekat paling efektif ditinjau dari karakteristik efisiensi penyisihan tinggi, kadar TCLP rendah, biaya terjangkau, dan kebutuhan energi rendah serta potensi penerapan jangka panjang. Hasil analisis skoring menunjukkan bahwa komposisi dan jenis perekat paling efektif adalah gypsum 60% pada waktu kontak 24 jam mampu mencapai efisiensi penyisihan 61,94%, kadar TCLP Pb 0,419 – 0,824 mg/L. Daya kuat tekan jenis perekat gypsum komposisi 50% adalah 1,702 Mpa.

The use of various types of adhesives in the construction of Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) has been used several times to recover contaminated water, especially lead heavy metal (Pb) type contaminants. The use of different types of adhesives in coconut shell biochar PRB results in different strength and allowance efficiency. The preliminary research includes a test of the physical characteristics of biochar and a trial-and-error test of the composition of gypsum adhesive and clay of 15%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, and 100%. The composition that passed trial and error continued to the main study, namely the adsorption test in the reactor containing a Pb solution of 89.37 mg/L with variations in the types of gypsum and clay adhesives, and the composition of 50%, 60%, 70%, and 100% on each adhesive. Sampling at contact time 3, 6, 12, 24 hours. Analysis of Pb, pH, temperature, and EC content was carried out on the solution samples. The PRB samples were analyzed for their protection level through TCLP test and compressive strength test. The analysis of all parameters aims to find out the most effective type and composition of adhesives. The type and composition of the adhesive affect the adsorption ability of Pb by PRB. In addition, the efficiency of removal is also affected by pH, temperature, and EC. Higher pH affects the increase in removal efficiency because Pb+ ions bind to OH-. The composition and type of the most effective adhesives are reviewed from the characteristics of high clearance efficiency, low TCLP levels, affordable cost, and low energy requirements as well as long-term application potential. The results of the scoring analysis showed that the composition and type of the most effective adhesive was gypsum 60% at 24-hour contact time was able to achieve an allowance efficiency of 61.94%, TCLP Pb level of 0.419 – 0.824 mg/L. The compressive strength of the 50% composition gypsum adhesive type was 1.702 Mpa.
