Abstract

The low literacy rate of the Quran in Indonesia, with 65% of the Muslim population struggling to read and understand it, highlights the need for innovative learning solutions. This study utilized the Design Sprint methodology to develop an AI-powered Quranic learning platform leveraging DeepSpeech technology, aiming to enhance accessibility, effectiveness, and personalization in Quranic education. The Design Sprint process comprised five stages: Understand, Diverge, Decide, Prototype, and Validate. During the Understand phase, interviews and observations with 20 users in Jakarta and Pontianak identified major challenges, such as difficulties in tajweed and limited access to interactive learning. The Diverge stage generated over 30 creative solutions, including gamification and automated evaluation features. Following the Decide phase, an interactive prototype with DeepSpeech AI voice recognition was developed using the Flutter framework. Testing during the Validate phase showed that the prototype improved user experience by 70%, particularly in tajweed pronunciation and learning engagement through gamification features. The results demonstrate that the Design Sprint methodology effectively produces relevant, responsive, and user-adaptive solutions. This approach also validates that rapid iteration can lead to innovative Quranic learning platforms with immediate user feedback.
