Abstract
Dalam Smart Grid, komunikasi memiliki peran yang penting. Salah satu jaringan protokol yang kerap digunakan adalah LoRa (Long-Range). LoRa (Long-Range) merupakan teknologi komunikasi nirkabel berdaya rendah yang memiliki jangkauan luas dan cocok digunakan untuk transmisi data yang efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja jaringan LoRa dengan menerapkan algoritma flooding sebagai metode penyebaran data antar node dalam jaringan, penggunaan algoritma ini menjadi pilihan ideal untuk skenario kritis dalam smart grid, seperti peringatan darurat atau sinkronisasi sistem secara real-time. Algoritma flooding dipilih karena mampu memastikan penyebaran data ke seluruh node jaringan, meskipun berpotensi meningkatkan peluang tabrakan (collision) dan waktu transmisi akibat redundansi pengiriman pesan. Simulasi dilakukan pada lingkungan dengan area tetap, variasi jumlah node, serta batasan hop limit yang ditetapkan untuk mengontrol penyebaran pesan. Parameter kinerja yang dianalisis meliputi collision rate, rata-rata delay, rata-rata Tx air, dan reachability. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan jumlah node dan hop limit menyebabkan collision rate dan rata-rata delay meningkat signifikan, sementara reachability tetap optimal pada hop limit yang lebih tinggi. Namun, rata-rata waktu Tx air juga mengalami peningkatan, menunjukkan adanya trade-off antara cakupan penyebaran pesan dan efisiensi waktu transmisi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menekankan bahwa implementasi algoritma flooding pada jaringan LoRa mampu memastikan penyebaran data yang luas, tetapi memerlukan pengaturan hop limit yang optimal untuk mengurangi delay dan collision.

In Smart Grid, communication plays an important role. One of the network protocols that is often used is LoRa (Long-Range). LoRa (Long-Range) is a low-power wireless communication technology that has a wide range and is suitable for efficient data transmission. This research aims to evaluate the performance of the LoRa network by applying the flooding algorithm as a method of spreading data between nodes in the network, the use of this algorithm is an ideal choice for critical scenarios in smart grids, such as emergency alerts or real-time system synchronization. The flooding algorithm was chosen because it can ensure data dissemination to all network nodes, although it has the potential to increase the chance of collision and transmission time due to message delivery redundancy. Simulations were conducted in an environment with a fixed area, a varying number of nodes, and a set hop limit to control message propagation. The performance parameters analyzed include collision rate, rata-rata delay, rata-rata Tx air, and reachability. The simulation results show that increasing the number of nodes and hop limit causes the collision rate and rata-rata delay to increase significantly, while reachability remains optimal at higher hop limits. However, the rata-rata air transmission time (Tx air) also increases, indicating a trade-off between message dissemination coverage and transmission time efficiency. Thus, this study emphasizes that the implementation of the flooding algorithm in LoRa networks can ensure wide data dissemination but requires optimal hop limit settings to reduce delay and collisions.
