Abstract

Bambu cendani (Phyllostachys Aurea) adalah jenis rumput berkayu dengan struktur unik, ringan, dan kuat. Sifat fleksibilitasnya menjadikannya bahan yang ideal untuk rangka sepeda anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan memaksimalkan potensi bambu cendani sebagai bahan utama dalam perancangan sepeda anak 2-in-1 yang adaptable dari balance bike menjadi pedal bike. Sepeda ini dirancang untuk mendukung perkembangan motorik kasar dan kemandirian anak sejak dini. Selain itu, penggunaan bambu memberikan nilai tambah sebagai material yang ringan, tahan lama, serta mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan. Proses perancangan melibatkan eksperimen pengawetan bambu, pemilihan serat sambungan, sistem sambungan, dan uji prototipe. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa bambu cendani memiliki keunggulan dalam kekuatan dan estetika, menjadikannya alternatif sebagai pengganti frame besi. Sepeda ini diperuntukkan untuk anak usia 3–6 tahun dengan beban maksimum 30 kg.

Golden bamboo (Phyllostachys Aurea) is a woody grass known for its unique, lightweight, and strong structure. Its flexibility makes it an ideal material for children's bicycle frames. This research aims to maximize the potential of golden bamboo as the primary material for designing a 2-in-1 children's bicycle, adaptable from a balance bike to a pedal bike. The bicycle is designed to support the development of gross motor skills and independence in early childhood. Additionally, using bamboo provides added value as a lightweight, durable, and environmentally sustainable material. The design process involves bamboo preservation experiments, selection of fiber joints, joint systems, and prototype testing. The results demonstrate that golden bamboo excels in strength and aesthetics, making it an alternative to metal frames. This bicycle is intended for children aged 3–6 years with a maximum load of 30 kg.
