Abstract
Smart building memanfaatkan teknologi canggih untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja, efisiensi, dan keamanan. Sistem penghitung jumlah orang berbasis menjadi fitur penting dalam smart building karena dapat membantu meningkatkan keamanan, memberikan informasi bagi pengguna dan pengelola gedung, serta mengoptimalkan penggunaan gedung, khususnya dalam mencegah kerumunan dan meminimalkan risiko kecelakaan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan dan implementasi sistem penghitung jumlah orang berbasis sensor inframerah untuk setiap lantai gedung. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor inframerah yang dimodifikasi dengan laser sebagai pemancar dan LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sebagai penerima. Modifikasi ini memungkinkan sistem untuk melakukan deteksi yang akurat terhadap pergerakan orang, dengan memanfaatkan sinar laser yang terfokus dan intensitas cahaya yang terukur pada LDR. ESP32 dipilih sebagai mikrokontroler utama karena kemampuannya yang mumpuni dalam memproses data sensor, menghitung jumlah orang, dan mengirimkan data ke platform Firebase secara real-time. ESP32 juga memiliki keunggulan dalam hal konsumsi daya, jumlah GPIO, dan dukungan WiFi & Bluetooth. Firebase Realtime Database dipilih sebagai platform untuk menyimpan dan mengolah data jumlah orang karena kemudahan penggunaan, API yang mudah diakses, dan kemampuan sinkronisasi data secara real-time. Data tersebut kemudian ditampilkan pada antarmuka web yang mudah diakses oleh pengguna dan pengelola gedung. Website ini dibangun menggunakan HTML, CSS, dan JavaScript, serta diintegrasikan dengan Firebase. Dashboard interaktif pada sistem ini memberikan informasi terkini mengenai jumlah orang di setiap lantai gedung. Selain itu, sistem ini dilengkapi dengan fitur peringatan dini untuk mendeteksi potensi kepadatan berlebih dan memberikan notifikasi kepada pengelola gedung. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keamanan, efisiensi, dan kenyamanan pengguna gedung.

Smart buildings utilize advanced technologies to optimize performance, efficiency, and security. An Infrared-based people counting system is a crucial feature in smart buildings for enhancing security and efficiency, especially in preventing overcrowding and minimizing accident risks. This research focuses on designing and implementing an Infraed-based people counting system for each floor of a building. The system uses a modified infrared sensor with a laser as the transmitter and an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) as the receiver. This modification allows the system to accurately detect people's movement, by utilizing focused laser beams and measurable light intensity on the LDR. ESP32 was chosen as the main microcontroller due to its capable performance in processing sensor data, calculating the number of people, and sending data to the Firebase platform in real-time. ESP32 also excels in power consumption, the number of GPIOs, and WiFi & Bluetooth support. Firebase Realtime Database was chosen as the platform to store and process people count data due to its ease of use, easily accessible APIs, and real-time data synchronization capabilities. The data is then displayed on a user-friendly web interface accessible to both users and building managers. This website is built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and is integrated with Firebase. An interactive dashboard within the system provides up-to-date information on the number of people on each floor of the building. Additionally, the system incorporates an early warning feature to detect potential overcrowding and notify building managers. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance building security, efficiency, and user comfort.
