Abstract

The core of this study lies in analyzing how post pandemic private equity investments (PE) have transformed European financial systems related to stock exchanges, capital markets, and socio economic stability. It points to a shift toward high growth sectors such as healthcare, renewable energy, and technology and how PE investments exacerbate market imbalances and exacerbate regional differences in ESG integration. The paper finds that this leads to reduced IPO activity, increased reliance on private exits, and limited retail investor access resulting in reduced market liquidity and transparency. Recommendations include advocating for inclusivity by way of public private partnerships, strengthening its regulatory frameworks and democratizing PE access. PE’s potential as a catalyst for sustainable recovery is underscored by the study.
